Fabric Inspection
Fabric inspection uses the 4-point system.
Each defect is worth a specific number of penalty points. The total number of points found on the fabric will determine if the inspection is passed or failed.
Points are generally evaluated depending on
-Their size
Their type (fabric defect of hole)
In the 4-point system, fabric quality is evaluated by unit points per 100 sq. yd.
Points / 100 sq. yd. = (total points in roll * 36 * 100) / (fabric length in yards * fabric width in inches)
In general, acceptable levels of ‘points per 100 linear yards’ or ‘points per 100 square yards’ are different for different fabric types.
For example:
For cotton twill or denim, 28 points per 100 square yards (23 points per 100 square meter’s) for an individual fabric roll
For all synthetic fabrics, 20 points per 100 square yards (16 points per 100 square meter’s) for an individual fabric roll
Inline Inspection
Prevent non-conforming goods by inspecting the first pieces of production. (Before 20%)
In most cases, defects and mistakes happen during the first stages of the production process or the first manufactured units. When those issues can be detected and corrected on time, delivery times don’t get affected.
Final random inspection (pre-shipment inspection)
Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI), also known as Final Random Inspection, is the most common inspection type to confirm the whole shipment’s quality level. It normally requires the production to be completed and at least 80% of the goods packed into cartons.
The inspected samples are selected at random according to international standards and procedures. This inspection is conducted on the standards of internationally recognized ISO 2859-1 and ANSI/ASQC Z1.4-2008 (equivalent to MIL-STD-105 E) statistical sampling procedures.
Container loading check
More and more, customs regulations are getting tighter. Besides preventing the shipment of a damaged container, confirming the labelling, general conformance, and quantities of the product may save you a lot of headache at the destination.
Container Loading Supervision provides confirmation that your finished goods are handled correctly when loaded into containers. This service usually takes place at the factory location(s) or a third-party warehouse and occurs after a final product inspection.
Sample check
A sample checking service involves inspecting a relatively small number of items from a batch or lot for a range of specifications such as appearance, workmanship, safety, functions, etc. prior to mass production.
